About us

Tea is a national drink in China and is a staple in households, central to our daily lives.

The culture of tea evaluation and critiquing has evolved over the past centuries. Originating from the first known monograph on tea in the world “The Tea Classic” by Lu Yu, this has inspired a plethora of treatises and commentaries on tea, with “Treatise on Tea” by the Chinese Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty being a prime example.

With thanks to the tea trade with the west since the Qing Dynasty, we have adopted a set of structured evaluation mechanism for tea, and have since adapted it to suit the diverse Chinese tea.
